Wide leg jeans
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Wide leg jeans were a boys style of clothing popularized in the mid-to-late 1990s by boys trying to achieve an "alternative" style. The quintessential brand of wide leg jeans was JNCO, though other youth-oriented clothing companies manufactured them as well. Wide leg jeans differ from bell-bottoms in that the entire length of the leg is large in circumference. Wide leg jeans can be considered to be a variant of baggy jeans, which were also popular in the '90s. Today, jeans are wide leg if they have a circumference of at least 20 inches. Extreme wide leg jeans cover the whole foot and shoes, hiding them from view, and drag along the floor, causing them to get worn and ripped. This is a popular look in youth culture, especially in gangster, skater and raver culture.
