Winterthur Group

Winterthur Group (AXA Winterthur Group)is a multinational insurance company founded in Winterthur Switzerland in 1875. Until June of 2006 Winterthur was a Credit Suisse (CS) subsidiary. Now, Paris based AXA Insurance has entered into a definitive agreement to purchase Winterthur group from CS for approx 12 billion CHF. From 2007 onward, AXA will be merging the companies. Logo Changes started to appear in Barcelona during January 2007.

Due to the takeover, AXA Insurance will take over the brand name and general supervision of the company.
