"With My Eyes Wide Open, I'm Dreaming" is a popular song.
It was written by Harry Revel (musicwriter) and Mack Gordon (lyricist), and published in 1934.
The song was introduced by Jack Oakie and Dorothy Dell in the movie Shoot the Works. It was also sung by Dean Martin in the 1952 The Stooge.
The first versions to make the charts were in 1934 when Leo Reisman's version reached #3 and Isham Jones's version reached #11. It was later popularized by Patti Page in 1950 and revived by her in 1959.
The 1950 Page recording was issued by Mercury Records as catalog number 5344, and first reached the Billboard chart on January 7, 1950, lasting 12 weeks and peaking at #11. [1]
The 1959 Page recording was issued by Mercury Records as catalog number 71469, and first reached the Billboard chart on June 21, 1959, lasting 7 weeks and peaking at #59.
