There are a few institutions in Woodburn that are devoted to teaching and presenting the arts. Willamette Ballet Academy was founded in 1982. World's Berry Center Museum was founded in the early 1980s as well. The World's Berry Center Museum occasionally produces plays by Miracle Theater.

Hallmark Hall of Fame Production recently filmed some exterior scenes from "Valley of Light," starring Chris Klein, in downtown Woodburn [1]. Despite high expectations, it was reported that some local residents felt that the filming crew treated onlookers in a harsh and unfriendly fashion

Production in Woodburn was shut down after only a quarter of the filming was completed due to massive rain. The majority of the filming in Woodburn was outside (exterior). This dampened the spirit of the production and local people whose employment on the production was unfortunately cut short. In addition, a beloved member of the Woodburn community who was served as a liaison between the production and the town succumbed to a long illness during production, adding to the sadness of Woodburn. The weather and sad atmosphere helped create one of the most beautifully filmed scenes in any Hallmark Hall of Fame Production, a funeral. Shot in the local cemetery while it was raining.
