Xica (also known as Xica da Silva) is a 1976 Brazilian drama film directed and written by Carlos Diegues. It stars telenovela actress Zezé Motta as the title character. Its music score was composed by popular singer Jorge Ben Jor. Xica wass one of the first Brazilian films in which the main actress is an black woman. The film's plot is based on João Felicio dos Santos' novel "Memórias do Distrito de Diamantina" and was adapted to screen by Antonio Callado and Carlos Diegues.

Xica tells the story of a clever and ambitious African slave named Xica da Silva. Xica won her emancipation in the mid-18th-century Brazil by using sex to induce the Portuguese town governor to grant her freedom. In doing so, she became a legend in Brazil.
