Yaddle (509 BBY-25 BBY) is a fictional character in the Star Wars universe.

Yaddle is a Jedi Master of tremendous power and wisdom who served on the Jedi Council during the events of The Phantom Menace — and the only non-humanoid female on the Council at the time. She is of the same species as the ancient and immensely powerful Jedi Master Yoda, revealed in the Star Wars book Cloak of Deception. She was operated in The Phantom Menace by Phil Eason.

Yaddle herself is 477 years old at the time of the Battle of Naboo, young compared to Yoda's 850 years. She was known for her compassion and patience, as well as her mastery of the ancient and forbidden Jedi art of Morichro, a possible method for killing a being without using the dark side of the Force — a skill she taught to very few of her Padawans, due to its obvious capability for being misused. Yaddle taught Morichio to Sartochi Ramora, who used it to eliminate the Geonosians that were holding him captive before he fell to the dark side. Yaddle was the head of the Librarian's Assembly in the Jedi Temple, hence, she came across Holocrons of obscure knowledge — this is how she learned Morichro herself. She has amazing acrobatic skills, something common to her species. She has an unusual connection to the Force that allows her to use Morichro.

In about 300 BBY, when Yaddle was a padawan of the Jedi Master Plovin Kut, the two of them travelled to the Koba system to deal with the threat of a local warlord named Tulak. The two Jedi were betrayed by spies and ambushed by the forces of the warlord, where Kut was killed and Yaddle was captured. Tulak then imprisoned the diminutive apprentice in a dungeon, far below the surface of the planet Koba. There Yaddle would stay for more than a century, honing her mastery of the Force, ready for her eventual chance to escape - which came when a massive earthquake struck, allowing her to escape to the surface. Instead of immediately returning to Coruscant, however, she remained on the planet and helped the Kobans rebuild their decimated society. These efforts attracted the attention of Tulak's heir, Kalut, who fought with Yaddle. Yaddle defeated the tyrant and in the process liberated the people of Koba once and for all.

When Yaddle eventually returned to Coruscant, the Jedi Council determined that her survival of a century of imprisonment and subsequent liberation of Koba were sufficient grounds not only to promote her instantly to the rank of Jedi Master, but also to offer her a temporary seat on the Jedi Council. During this time, Yaddle trained dozens of Padawans, including Empatojayos Brand. She was also a proficient healer and diplomat and went on many missions to mediate disputes.

In 25 BBY, Granta Omega lured Yaddle, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker to the planet Mawan, where Anakin was taken hostage. Yaddle chose to free Anakin over stopping a toxic weapon. She then sacrificed her life to save Anakin's and thousands more by absorbing the toxic gases of Omega's deadly weapon.
