Yangcheon-gu is a gu, or district, of Seoul, South Korea, located on the southwest side of the Han River. This place were called 'Jechapaui-hyun' during the Goguryeo age. And its name have changed several times. The name 'Yangcheon' was made up in 1310 during the Goryeo dynasty. It was separated from neighboring Gangseo-gu in 1988. The 'Yangcheon-gu' includes Mok-dong, Shinjung-dong and Shinwal-dong. This area was developed around 1980s (Government's Policy to build a new town to live) and a large apartment complex was built. Now, 'Yangcheon-gu' is the place where middle and upper-class families reside mostly and it is one of the finest 'gu' in Seoul to live.
