Year of the Cat is a 1976 album by Al Stewart. It features the hit single (and one of his best-known songs) also called "Year of the Cat", which runs for over six and a half minutes and was co-written by Peter Wood. His other single from the album is "On the Border", which is also one of Stewart's most well-known songs.

A digitally remastered version of the album was released in 2004.

The cover design by Colin Elgie of Hipgnosis depicts a 1920s woman who has an obsession with cats. She can be seen in the mirror dressing up as a cat for a fancy dress party, and all of the items on her dresser have feline motifs. Amongst the items on view (which can be seen more clearly on the full-size LP sleeve or large reproductions in album cover art books) are Kitty milk chocolates, Tabby perfume, Cat's Whisker eau de toilette and Chat cigarettes. There is also a postcard from Katmandu, and even the banknotes in her purse are ducats.
