Yu Kajima (ユウ・カジマ Yū Kajima) is a fictional character from the Gundam universe.

Yu was the pilot of two of three RX-79BD "Blue Destiny" mobile suits built by the Earth Federation during the One Year War. Before he piloted the Blue Destiny, he was leader of a mobile suit team comprised of fellow pilots Phillip Hughes and Summona Fulis. After the initial encounter with Blue Destiny Unit 1, Yu and his team are upgraded from RGM-79 GM units to brand-new RGM-79D GM Cold Climate Type MS. They destroy a team of MSM-03C Hygoggs and MS-09 Doms, and Yuu even damages the MS-08TX Efreet Custom piloted by Nimbus Schterzen.

After this battle, Yu is assigned Blue Destiny Unit 1, which he continues to use until it is destroyed in battle against the Efreet Custom (which was also destroyed). During his time piloting Unit 1, he earns the ace nickname "The Blue Death." Soon after, Yu is pursuing Schterzen who has stolen Unit 2 with Unit 3. The two have their final battle near Side 5, in which, both Unit 2 and 3 are destroyed, and Schterzen is killed. In the official video game version of the events, Yu perishes along with Schterzen in the Blue destiny units, and all files on the Blue Destiny project are destroyed. However, in the novelization of the story Yu survives and is promoted to Lieutenant Commander, and given a blue colored RGM-79GS GM Command Space Type.In the novels version of the events Kajima and his team escorted Amuro Ray's RX-78-2 Gundam on his way to A Baoa Qu. Morris and Fullis were killed by Johnny Ridden and Thomas Kurtz. Yu Kajima survives the Battle of A Baoa Qu, However, most consider this video version to be non-canonical.

In UC 0093, Yu Kajima serves in Londo Bell during the Second Neo Zeon War, piloting a RGM-89 Jegan.

It has been speculated by some fans that he has feelings for his operator, Maureen Kitamura.

Yu Kajima's name is a pun for You, the player, and spelled as such (You Kajima) in the game SD Gundam G Generation F (where it is assumed that he survives up to, and possibly past, the events of Char's Counterattack). In addition, he does not have any combat quotes in this game, though he has his own thoughts and otherwise speaks only when necessary - much like the "mute protagonist" in certain RPGs.

Yu Kajima's most recent appearance is the PSP game Gundam Battle Chronicle. True to his appearance in G Generation, he does not have any spoken lines in the game.
