- Yuri had at one point been contracted by Bang Zoom! Entertainment to provide the English voice for Renton Thurston in Eureka Seven. After recording 13 episodes, he was replaced by Johnny Yong Bosch because it was deemed that his voice was too low for the character and all of the lines were subsequently rerecorded.[1] Yuri is never actually heard in Eureka Seven as a result, despite it previously being listed on his resume.
- Yuri is a certified practitioner of Wu Shu kung fu.
- Yuri is fluent in speaking in four different languages. English, Japanese, French and German. He has joked that the only Spanish he knows is to "order Mexican food".
- Yuri was found at Anime Expo 2007 dressed up as Haseo from the .hack series.
- Yuri also attended the San Diego Comic-Con 2007 at the same time as Johnny Yong Bosch. Yuri was doing autographs for Sasuke from Naruto and Johnny was doing autographs for Ichigo from Bleach.
