Zanjeer (Devanagari: ज़ंजीर, Nastaliq: زنجیر, translation: Shackles), is a film from India starring Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan (his real-life wife), Pran and Ajit. The movie changed the trend from romantic films to action films and pioneered Amitabh's new image of a brooding but explosive person who fights back when cornered. Better known as The Angry Young Man.
The world erodes around Vijay (Amitabh Bachchan), an honest police officer. He is jailed for 6 months on false charges, trapped by gang leader Teja (Ajit). When Vijay is released from jail, he plans to take revenge. . .
