Zaphod Beeblebrox (nightclub)

Coordinates: 45.394527727221° N 75.684072451862° W Zaphod Beeblebrox is a Byward Market nightclub in Ottawa, Canada featuring live band performances.

It is themed after The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, with drinks like the Pan Galactic Gargleblaster and other cocktails, and the Zaphod Beeblebrox style, which is described as "...the worst dressed sentient being in the universe, and even though he didn't try to be cool, he was."[1]

Eugene D. Haslam (1955-) originally opened the venue on Rideau Street on August 1989, but was shut down on January 1991 when Bell Canada purchased the club's property for its telephone facilities. Haslam reopened Zaphod Beeblebrox in its present location on March 1992.

On August 29, 2005, the Rolling Stones shot the music video for "Streets of Love" there.

The popular Friday night "Electric Ballroom" sessions of the late 1990s were hosted by dj's Steve and Simon.

It is home to North America's longest-running weekly industrial music night, which is hosted by DJ leslie.
